For all our friends and family. Happy Thanksgiving with Love, Anne and Bob Gothard 3rddayfarm@gmail Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ Ephesians 5:20 On this day of Thanksgiving try and remember those colonist at Plymouth in 1623. They were strangers in a foreign land. Life on the frontier was harsh; they have been through much suffering including hunger. Hard work, essential for survival was their lot. Surrounded by rugged unforgiving wilderness they had Indians for neighbors. In most of the homes a beloved figure was missing buried beneath the sod of this strange land. By todays standards their homes were meager huts, and their clothes were rough and home spun. In that lonely setting the simple folks gathered to observe a day of Thanksgiving. God had blessed them, and the future looked brighter. Food and shelter were more adequate. In spite of all their past hardships, They paused from their busy lives to give thanks to the Giver of all good things. Let us behold the simplicity of that first Thanksgiving Day and the legacy that was inspired thereby. Let us pause to visualize their circumstances and count our blessings.Those simple folks at that first Thanksgiving day were thankful for the bare necessities of life. And having food and raiment, let us be therewith content I Timothy 6:8 If we could not be thankful with little, neither would we be thankful with much.
