For all those who feel that my honest remarks about Mr Scott are racial I ve put some an excempt from my book Can Africa Unite Dont read if you are faint hearted and if you believe in the generocity of the West.Patrice Emery Lumumba (2 July 1925–11 February 1961) The only African leader murdered by Europeans whose remains can never be reburied by Africans even if we wanted to. His body after two exhumations, unbelieving that he was actually dead, they cut it up with hacksaws like beef and dissolved it in sulphuric acid piece by piece! It is recorded that Patrice Emery Lumumba is the only Congolese (Zaire) leader to have risen above the diverse ethnics of this part of Africa. Not even Joseph Kabila has pulled such a feat. He was the rightfully elected leader of this vast African area. On 30 June 1960 a 34-year Lumumba became Congos first prime minister with Joseph Kasavubu as President. Like Marcus Garvey, Samora Machel and Steve Biko, Lumumba represented the most classical African altruism, for a united Congo and by extension Africa. His charisma, forward looking and anti colonial attitude scared the West that they instituted a plan to kill him. He was the first Prime Minister of the Republic of the Congo after he helped win its independence from Belgium on June 30, 1960 He was killed by Colonel Joseph Seseko Mobutu who was a tool in the hands of the Belgians and American intelligence-the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). Lumumba’s government was deposed only 10 weeks in office. It is revealed that U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower had said “something to CIA chief Allen Dulles to the effect that Lumumba should be eliminated” On 17 January 1961 Lumumba and two other very young comrades from the government, Maurice Mpolo and Joseph Okito, were lined up against a tree and shot one at a time. Belgian Police Commissioner Gerard Soete (European) later admitted in several accounts that he and his brother led the first and a second exhumation of his body. Another Belgian Police Commissioner Frans Verscheure also took part in the murder and exhumation of the Lumumba’s body. On the afternoon and evening of January 21 1961, Commissioner Soete and his brother dug up Lumumbas corpse for the second time, cut it up with a hacksaw, and dissolved it in concentrated sulfuric acid (source www wikipedia.org/wiki/.David Akerman and Ludo de Witte 2002:140-143). More like the case of Nkrumahs Ghana at independence in 1957, the cocoa trade was beautifully explored by Nkrumah until the Americans and British dropped the price at the world market from £748 per tonne in 1961 to £80 per tonne in 1965. It is said Nkrumah upon being told by his Finance Minister and Bank Governor how little money the Central Bank had, he excused himself, went into another room and wept! The evil hand of capitalism had broken into his economy therefore the dream of building one Africa from Ghana died. Thus went Nkrumahs dream of an economically and self sufficient Ghana and by extension- Africa. Today, Baffour Ankomah says, “Ghana has had the added disgrace of declaring itself a “Highly Indebted Poor Country” (HIPC).
