For all those who understand Pashto and Dari. See how this host, Shafie Ayar, who has a TV channel show in USA insults the Afghan President because of his ignorance. Mr Ayar, try to work on your Pashto skills. The President is not saying that Eid occurred when Prophet Mohamed (pbuh) put an end to the war. Instead he is the saying that during the festival of Eid, whether it is Eid-ul-fit or Eid-ul-zuha, the prophet (pbuh) denounced the war and that during the festival of Eid, there was a ceasefire among the Arabs. Payran-Tumbaan or kameez partook is Afghanistans traditional dress for men. Beside learning pashto, you also need to learn a lot about the culture of Afghanistan. It is a political norm for the head of states to follow this protocol of wearing their traditional clothes during the local and foreign trips. Take Iran, India, Pakistan, England, and many Arab countries as examples and you will notice the pattern. I know that some of the previous Afghan leaders were not wearing the traditional clothes, including late Dawood Khan. They were not doing anything wrong either. However, what the current President wearing is fully acceptable and as per the expectations of the people. The reason that western leaders are wearing pants and blazers is because that is a common western style of clothing which many other nations have adopted, including Afghanistan. Also, I suggest to not bring division and hatred among people through these types of comments and derogatory clips. Just because Ashraf Ghani is probably not from the same caste as yours, doesnt mean that you are more or a better Afghan than him and that you should insult him. Democracy gives you the right to express your opinions but if you cannot show respect towards a democratically elected head of state then you are insulting democracy the most. I think you owe an apology to the people of Afghanistan around the world. Viewers - feel free to share and denounce such acts of social media thats goes out of the limits.
