For anyone who wants to organise a candle vigil to coincide with the other ones that are taking place and would like to know how to do so. Here are a few steps that should get you on your way :) 1. Secure a centralised location in your area that people are able to access easily and somewhere that is well lit. Ask permission from the council or land owner if necessary. 2. Secure musicians, speakers , spoken word artists or someone who would like to read a poem. 3. Secure a portable speaker or run a normal P.A. System off a generator or car battery. You will need leads, mics & mic stands. 4. Secure candles and plastic cups to stop wax from burning hands. 5. We have been given different suggestions towards how we should end the ceremony (a) light up a Christmas three, and put Christmas cards that are addressed to lost loved ones on the tree. (b) tie messages to your loved to the string of a balloon and laugh them into the sky.
