For eight years, students and families from 5 local schools participate in the Plant-A-Thon and have already planted 28,000 native trees in the Tarboo Creek Watershed, restoring spawning grounds and healthy habitat for our salmon. To support the project, students and schools have begun selling this year’s beautiful card, designed by Port Townsend artist, Don Tiller. We still have cards for sale at Swan School. We are also getting ready for the planting event! Sign up in the office for the big day, February 1! 250 school children and family members from 5 schools on the Olympic Peninsula, WA, are planting 3,000 native trees along a newly restored stream. The growing forest will shade the stream and benefit fish and wildlife on a protected sanctuary.
