For everyone who sent thoughts and prayers to the family today, thank you! I cried driving to work this morning, terrified of what could happen. I cried coming home from work because surgery was successful. Miracles happen, especially when so many people pull together for one person. Yes, my amazing fighter of a sister is in recovery. Hayleigh went into surgery shortly before 8am, and was done with everything but the stitches by 3. Stitching her up took an hour. No grafting this time. They cut out a wedge of bone from her hip and broke the rest of her back and then attached the rods. They told her it was going to be very painful. Recovery is going to take at least 6 long weeks but once the worst is over, hopefully my doll wont hurt everyday like she has the last 21 years.. Bless your sweet heart my baby.. I wish I couldve been there so badly, but I know you were in good hands. God is good.
