For good or ill I have been challenging Yes diatribe on FB. Hopefully without rancour and as far as possible in good humour. But certain things keep occurring which I find disquieting. It is more and more the case that what is meant by independence is separation from London, Westminster and the Tories. Then a Scottish nirvana will appear with a perfect NHS a never ending oil supply and a social support framework second only to Scandinavia. This is such loose and wooly thinking as to be not really thinking at all. Secondly the continued ignorance of all the very real questions that need to be answered, how if would actually work if we leave the UK. Ok perhaps some things can be worked out at the time but it would be nice at least to have an idea before we vote. Finally, all negative independence stories are a clearly a combination of scaremongering, fear mongering, biased media, conspiracy, corruption and obviously a pack of lies. I now hope that the vote is utterly unequivocal. 60-40 at least. Either way. Because if it ends up being a close run thing I am not sure if the bitterness and social wounds will ever heal.
