For immediate release: July 10, 2013 Imrie wins at Brainerd Young Canadian rider Jordan Imrie has strong weekend of podium finishes BRAINERD, INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY – Canadian rider Jordan Imrie, from Winnipeg Manitoba ventured down to Brainerd International Raceway this past weekend. After four podium finishes – all 2nd’s – during the weekend, Imrie pulled off a win in the final race of the weekend, the Heavyweight GP. “We learned a lot this weekend, my Honda CBR600RR was working great” Imrie said. Then he talked about the win. “I had a great start and was right behind the leader in the 2nd corner. Tried passing going into 3 but got the door closed. A slight mistake by the leader in turn 4 gave me the opening I needed to take the lead. I made the pass going into turn 5. Once I had clear track I put my head down and tried to check out. I set my best lap of the weekend on the last lap of the last race, doing a 1:39.662.” Although Imrie took the final win, he was in the thick of the hunt for most of the weekend, which got off to a rough start with a minor crash in the first race while going for the lead in the rain. “I turned in a little early trying to set up the pass for the next corner and I just barely touched the painted line,” Imrie said. The rest of the weekend went pretty smooth despite losing one second place to a ruling on his non OEM rotors.
