For local business Information sessions for Council small plant and fleet replacement program Whitsunday Regional Council is inviting any business which is interested in hearing about Council’s replacement program for small plant and fleet to information sessions next week. Mayor Jenny Whitney said the information sessions will discuss the replacement of council’s plant and fleet, including small plant items such as mowers and brushcutters. There are two sessions next week as follows: • Bowen Council Chambers, 67 Herbert St, Bowen in the boardroom Tuesday 30 September at 5.30pm – 7.00pm; and • Proserpine Council Chambers, 83-85 Main St, Proserpine in the boardroom Wednesday 1 October at 5.00pm – 6.30pm “The purpose of the information sessions are for Council to provide information regarding current assets in the fleet and outline the fleet items likely to be replaced in the near future,” she said. “The information sessions will also allow suppliers an opportunity to provide feedback on Council’s specifications to replace the assets. “Council is keen to hear new ideas from suppliers about products currently available on the market and ways in which Council can be more innovative and create efficiencies. “Council will also present information about tendering processes and response requirements,” she said. Any business interested in attending the information sessions should call Council’s Customer Contact Centre’s 49450200 or 47613600.
