For many years now, the Vicente and Juanita Hao Chin Foundation has been helping indigent young school children in Camarines Sur go through the school year by providing for their school needs. This year, the Foundation worked with Jesse M. Robredo Foundation, in identifying school children who will be extended help. We recommended the children of San Roque Communal Elementary School because we believed they are the ones who will benefit most from this kind of assistance. San Roque Communal is one of the farthest barangays in Ocampo town, already bordering Sangay in the 4th District and Iriga City in the 5th District. Government assistance in the recent years has been few and far between. We hope to be able to extend whatever help we can to them. The school children were given schoolbags with a complete set of school supplies, umbrellas, raincoats and slippers. Most of them walk many kilometers in sun and rain to be able to go to school. The parents of the beneficiaries were present and promised to cooperate by keeping their children in school and the foundation, in return, promised that the help will be a yearly thing already as long as they comply with their commitment.
