"For most of human history, people had no idea how old they were - TopicsExpress

"For most of human history, people had no idea how old they were because there was no simple way to keep track of time. Or weight, or volume, or density, or temperature, or anything else, for that matter. Today we live in a world of tape measures and rulers, clocks and calendars, odometers, thermometers, and mass spectrometers." Now, my question is. Why do we need to keep track of these things? I believe we would be a much simpler/happier being if we were to say, just forget the idea of all these.
