For my friends back in Scotland. I dont need to remind you what - TopicsExpress

For my friends back in Scotland. I dont need to remind you what is happening in Scotland tomorrow. I am sure most, if not all of you have made up your mind about how you are going to vote. For those who are still sitting on the fence, first thing I would ask you to do is make sure you do go out and vote. If you are swaying towards voting no I would ask you to bear in mind that you are not just voting for what you believe suits you. You are voting for your children, your grandchildren, etc. You are voting for my son too. Something else to bear in mind is that this referendum is not about Alex Salmond and Alistair Darling or even Cameron/Clegg/Miliband. It is about YOU and Scotlands future. If it was solely about Alex Salmond Id struggle to vote Yes, but it isnt about him or even the SNP. Even from thousands of miles away I see the scare stories employed by the no campaign. I am able to laugh at them only because I consider myself to be a little bit politically and economically savvy. If I wasnt I would be a little scared too. I would ask you to consider this. All the scare stories of the last week or two, if they were true, why did they not tell you all this before? Does that not tell you something? Think back to when you were a child, what did your parents use as a last resort tactic to get you to behave in December? Santa doesnt come to bad boys and girls. Yes, the scare tactic. I did it myself with my own son. I would go to the window and look at the sky and say, Are you watching this Santa?. Yes the scare tactic. It worked on me and my son and probably you too. Why? Because we were children and didnt have a source of an alternative vision. You are lucky, you can access an alternative. Difficulty is that the mainstream media is owned or operated by supporters of the status quo. You might think, The BBC are the best news organisation in the world. They are well respected everywhere. Well yes I was brought up to believe that to be true also. Think about the first word in BBC. Therein lies the clue. Yes, BRITISH. All the so called experts that are saying no and all the experts who are saying yes, most of them have a slant to their opinion. In court cases you will know that the Crown or Defence sometimes call expert witnesses. Quite rightly too. Remember, they will give their evidence on behalf of who is paying them. So you will see these experts sometimes on one side and the next time on the opposite side. If you work for Tesco, you are not going to tell people to shop at ASDA are you? Your job before you put your cross on that ballot paper is to get informed. Nowadays you have the internet. Google will help you, but remember you may have to consider how impartial the evidence you are reading really is. I will be honest and not hide anything. I will say that if I had a vote, I would be voting YES. Up until about 2 years ago I was 100% against, but I did my research, I asked questions of both sides and can see that the vote that will benefit my son, your children and your grandchildren is to vote YES. Please do not be scared.
