For once I support the government for its plans to evict people who settled in places not designated by the Harare City Council or any City Local Authority in line with the Urban Council Town Planning regulations. We must try to live within the norms of civilisation. The City has its its historic plan that has existed for over a century and it must stay within those confinements. We have lost open space for recreationally facilities due to corruption in Councils and that must be corrected. The breakdown in City infrastructure is partly down to breakdown in law order in local authority governance. Modern organised societies live within the law and not populist disorderly way to propel the acceleration of informal urbanisation riding on corruption. But also there must be efforts to trace land stolen by politicians. Already the MDC-T has a report on Phillip Chiyangwa and we all know Chombos Country of Stands in most Urban areas is a record available in his divorce case. This may sound callous but that is the only way to restore our olds self. From there we move into discipline in the borders to stop contraband slipping the Customs net into the country and destroying our local industry. The economy is bleeding partly because there are so many leakages.
