For precept MUST BE upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line; here a little, AND there a little. O my threshing, and the corn of my floor: that which I have heard of the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, have I declared unto you. As the rain cometh down and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth; it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accompolish that which I please, and it shall prosper IN THE THING whereto I sent it. So these THINGS shall be for a statute of judgment unto you throughout your generations in all your dwellings. The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand forever. To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, IT IS because THERE IS no light in them.
