For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, - TopicsExpress

For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. If you serve Christ with this attitude, you will please God, and others will approve of you, too. — Romans 14:17-18 nlt Key Thought Whoa! While were stuffing ourselves at Thanksgiving, lets remember that life in Gods Kingdom is not about what we eat or drink. Because of the Holy Spirits presence and power within us, we find ourselves at the table of thanksgiving because the Spirits presence leads to the Spirits blessings coming to life in us. Things like goodness, peace, and joy dont happen accidentally; they are the intentional work of Gods presence within us through the Holy Spirit. So as we pause to eat and give thanks, lets also remember the source of all that is good in our lives, the basis of our peace, and joy that sustains us: the Holy Spirit. No wonder the Holy Spirit is called the gift of God and no wonder we give thanks for this special gift! Todays Prayer O Father, thank you for all your many gifts showered upon me. Thank you especially for the Holy Spirit, who is transforming me to become more like Jesus and empowers me to live a good life, to enjoy the peace that passes all understanding, and to know your deep and abiding joy. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
