For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. (2 Timothy 1:7 NIV) When the Lord leads us into uncharted territory, our initial response may be one of fear, anxiety or confusion. 2 Timothy 1:7 says, For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. Being fearful is human. Being timid is human. But, having a spirit of power, love and self-discipline is divine. The Lord gives us what we need when we need it. We can trust Him to sustain us in the valleys and to rejoice with us at the peaks. The next time you feel fear rearing its vicious, ugly head, remember that the Lord has equipped you with power, love and self-discipline to conquer any obstacle.
