For the Spirit that God has given us does not make us timid; - TopicsExpress

For the Spirit that God has given us does not make us timid; instead, his Spirit fills us with power, love, and self-control. (2 Timothy 1:7 GNB) Ni sa sega ni solia na Kalou vei keda na yalo ni rere, ia na yalo ga sa solia vei keda na kaukauwa, na loloma, kei na bula vakaivakarau. (2 Timoci 1:7 FNV) If you think that Christianity is supposed to make us timid, small, to live in low self esteem or with a false sense of humility, think again. Our portion is power, love, and self control. These are resources that the Spirit of God has made available for us which we need to draw upon by faith, prayer and practice. For through regular use these characteristics can become part of us. For the spirit of fear is a powerful enemy of our soul which our enemy Satan effectively uses against us. How often it enters through the cracks in our inner being to the control centre of our lives and to be in charge. It is indeed a very, very bad master. It has many disciples and agents like anxiety, ignorance, retreat, flight, darkness, isolation, panic, cowardice. Its aim is to make us miserable and enslaved continuously and to live a life of pretence. If in doubt, just check your regular thought pattern and find out what drives you to be where you are and to do what you do. For most us, our motivation is because of fear of losing something prestige, honour, a face, possession etc. For others the fear of being left out and being lonely and so forth. Well we have the better alternative available with us now today! It is called the Gospel or the Good News of our ever present Savior Jesus Christ. This is why we love and really appreciate Him and what He has provided for us to fight fear. His abiding presence should give us power, or staying power to withstand the darts of fear. His love through us when perfected fills us and drives away our fears. And Him being the great Master gives us self control which is our ability to maintain the decision making centre of our lives calm. O dear friends in Christ, what a wonderful Savior we do have. Rejoice in this truth now. Do not leave applying this text to another day. Release all our fears and let us claim his power, his love, his self control even now. And walk away rejoicing and praising Him who is in control of your situation. Your stronghold of fear will become opportunities and lever for your victory through Christ. Lord Jesus you are the wonderful Savior! I confess that fear has paralyzed my life. Thank you that You have come to set us free. Help me to continuously draw upon your power, your love and your ability for self control in all situations today. Amen
