For the United Kingdom where Dr Imran Mirza is currently holding the charge of the mission. Kamran Shafi who served as Principal Information Officer (PIO) in the first term of Benazir Bhutto as prime minister, is a retired army officer. He was proposed by certain political quarters as high commissioner in London last year but the proposal was shelved due to resistance by sensitive circles. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is proceeding to the United Kingdom on his maiden official bilateral visit on the invitation of his counterpart David Cameron on 29th of this month and it is understood that the government would like to have a permanent envoy in London before that. Prime Minister Nawaz will stay in the British capital for two days
