“For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost ROM14:17.” By the word meat and drink Apostle Paul wasn’t speaking of the food we eat or drink to gain appetite, he wasn’t speaking of physical foods that build the body, nor give good health to the body. By his saying “meat and drink” he was lamenting on the “food of the flesh” i.e. what bring growth to the flesh which is contrary to the spirit life. It means what brings virus to the spirit man of any spirit filled man. It is simply defined as being equally yoked with unbeliever (2cor 6:14). It is bringing filthy things into the temple of God (1cor3:16, 17). It is working in the way of destruction, laying hold on temporal things, putting ones affection on worldly things that endures for a time, it is seeking those things which are below(colo3:1). It is putting on the old man that has ones be condemned and nailed to the cross (eph4:24). Many fire brand Christians while on campuses, has been neutralized through divers “meat and drink” they’ve given the world the privilege to change them without thinking critically actions they engaged in, they’ve refused to know the mind of God through His word of God. They have denied the true profession of their faith through meat and drink. They are lust after the dumb idols of this world and have not considered the incorruptible glory set before them. They have exchange their righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy ghost with meat and drink. THE WAY OUT: Apostle Paul gives the way out of such pity condition, (2cor6:17) “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you”. Except you be separated God cannot receive you back as His child because it is impossible for darkness and light to dwell in the same house. Be separated and He will receive you. SHALOM
