For the last four days Ive been running Pop Up Playgrounds Fresh Air festival 2014 #freshair14, and now I can rest. I want to thank everyone involved, but especially Robert Reid, Sayraphim Lothian, Grant Howitt, Mary Hamilton, Rikki-Lee Butinar, Lyndie Li Wan Po, Kevin Turner, James ODonoghue, Jess Kilby, Sam Streeter and all the other hardworking volunteers, game runners and production staff, both ours and at Federation Square. And Id like to thank everyone who came and embraced the notion that play is not something you should put away as a child or hide away from public view, but that it is nourishing for the mind, body and soul. (I mean that in a completely non-spiritual way, but you interpret it as you like.) Oh, and also its a hell of a lot of fun. And honestly, let me say publicly that Spirits Walk and Little Monsters Big Day Out are the two greatest livegames it has ever been my pleasure to experience. If you get a chance to play them, do it. You wont regret it. (I didnt make either of them, so I think I can say that.)
