For the past four weeks, I have been on an eating plan called “Body 4 Believers.” It’s a simple, nutrition based approach that helps one to eat in such a way that causes your body to derive energy from stored fat, as opposed to the normal way that we access energy. The “science” of this eating plan is centered around keeping blood sugar at a constant range, not allowing it to spike, which causes the body to not look for sugar spikes as a source of energy. There are four components, each which must be done in order to make your body do this. Three are common sense, and the fourth was new on me. 1. Timing – 3 meals, spaced at least 3, but no more than 6, hours apart, with one snack per day (two if you work out.) 2. Water consumption – drinking half of your body weight in ounces each day. For me, this means that I drink a gallon each day. 3. Portion controls – “Hand” sized portions, or more accurately, for ladies, 4-6 ounces of protein each meal, for men, 6-8 ounces of protein each meal, with 1.5 cups of carbs per meal 4. Finally, the MAIN “ingredient” of this eating plan is eating in the correct combinations. By eating the correct combinations, our blood sugar does not spike, and the energy we burn comes from stores fat. With this eating plan, I still can eat regular foods such as steak, pork chops, chicken, green beans, corn, potatoes, rice, bread, peanut butter, chocolate, and, of course, KETCHUP. It’s easy. Admittedly, I have “started” it a few times, only to have something happen, but this time, I’ve “stuck” with it longer than my normal 1-2 weeks. You can have 2 “cheat” days this week, though, as of this writing, I have only had one “cheat” meal this whole week, and that was tonight. After you do the eating plan for 48 hours, your body gets into what I call “super fat burning mode.” The guy that put this diet together, Greg Locklear, is a former Southern Baptist pastor who now travels and does “Nutritional Evangelism.” He goes and does a series of classes (either 4 x 1.5 hour classes or 2 x 3 hour classes, depending on location, distance, and travel time) for free. Of course, a “love offering” is appreciated, but not required. Find out more at httt://body4believer If I can answer any questions, or tell you more specifically what I do, just let me know.
