For the young who never went through it and have no idea what it was really like, do take time to read and research our history. You will come across many that remain pro, but many more that thumb down that black chapter in our nations young life. You are in the midst of a contest for your young minds. My advice is for you to keep an open mind as you sift through the information you come across. Then use your inner voice to tell you whats right. As for me, I was a First Quarter Stormer, witnessed the full flow of dictatorship, and its aftermath. I witnessed the coup attempts that represented nothing more than a struggle for parochial interests in the name of freedom and democracy. My conclusion so far? Were not making things work for the better, with the welfare of future generations in mind, because there are too many self-serving agendas taking advantage of societys apathy and weak backbone. We have a long journey of struggle to go before we become worthy as a people. Thats just the way it is with nation-building. Young nations have a longer way to mature than those who began earlier. Lets just suck it in and do our part, and leave our world with a sense of confidence that those receiving the baton from us will continue the journey.
