Yesterday saw another extraordinary year of graduates grace the stage and deliver a spectacular show filled with such life, heart and humour, the industry applauded them all and welcomed them into the profession. That’s what a showcase is all about – celebrating the craft and entering the industry with pride and with a deep respect for its power. Allow me to say how proud I am of the graduating class of 2014. It’s the 14th showcase I have directed since the course inception in 2000 and I loved every moment with every actor in crafting and creating this show with them and for them. And to work for the first time with the amazing George Ogilvie was a long-overdue moment in my professional life and one I certainly hope to repeat. I have worked in this industry for 37 years and I can honestly say how heartened I am that these 23 fine actors and fine human beings will be contributing and making their mark over the years to come. We miss them already. We have been very fortunate to share the time we had with them and we wish each of them every success as they spread their wings. 2014 Grads - come back to ACA soon (Friday week for our film/pizza night!) – let’s share more great times...
