For these bead embroidered earrings, I selected a relatively neutral range of beads to highlight the owls. You will see pale greens and pale yellow mixed with the neutrals. The design alludes to Native American influences. I constructed these earrings with surgical steel studs. For the bead embroidery, I used mainly 11/0 seed beads. But, for the black beads immediately surrounding the owls, I sewed the very tiny 15/0 seed beads. The earrings’ backs are soft yellow felt. I banded each earring with three rows of 11/0 seed beads. The earrings measure approximately 2.25 inches long (57 mm) and 1.375 inches wide (35 mm) at the midpoint.
