Great day, yall. Heres what I did: WARNING -- this is kind of long. After my nap I explored the Cemetery de Montparnasse. An elegant French gentlemen saw me fooling with my map and proceeded to escort me around for at least an hour. We visited the graves of Baudelaire, Samuel Becket, Simone de Beauvoir, Sartre, Cesar, Ionesco, Man Ray, Jean Seberg, Susan Sontag, Serge Gainsbourg and many others. I asked if he worked there or lived close by and his answer was: I will soon be here forever. My wife is already resting here. He took time from visiting his wifes grave to help me. Then I walked to Jardin de Luxembourg and strolled and sat there for a while. On my way back to the hotel, I decided to visit the top of the tallest building In Paris, Tour Montparnasse on this sweltering summer day (mid 90s) for the glorious panoramic views -- touristy but worth it! A visit to Monoprix yielded wine, chocolate Croissants, yogurt, a baguette sandwich and cous cous salad for dinner. I was so sweaty I changed clothes and went to the corner bar Le France for a glass of Rose. Now relaxing before early bedtime with all my goodies.
