For those interested in the process. Such as Kari. I spray the canvas with an adhesive then apply a light coating of VP (venetian plaster). After that dries, I lightly sand it then rough in the composition with more VP. Then start laying down undercoats of acrylic paints. Next I lightly mist with water and wipe away some paint with a paper towel or terry cloth rag. I like to expose the ridges and cavities of the VP. When Im satisfied, I coat the finished painting with a high gloss acrylic varnish. Pictured are 4 different works in process and my very expensive palette.
