For those of us with wide-ranging automotive tastes, being asked whats your top ten cars is a bit like asking any normal person what their favourite oxygen molecule is. However, each top ten for any petrolhead has within in its one pillar that remains strong throughout all transgressions. And here we have mine: the Maserati Ghibli Spyder. Giugiaro really did nail it with this one, as it just looks crisp, lithe and purposeful. Like all the best automotive designs, it blends brutish machismo with delicate feminity. Then theres the litte details, such as that rakish exhaust pipe that sticks out proudly like a missile silo on the side of a warship. Its not all show and no go, as this particular example has 335bhp from its 4.7-litre engine. This ones up for sale at Bonhams Quail Lodge auction in August. More details are available at bonhams. Theres no estimate, but Im considering swapping my house for it. Not sure even that will be enough... How about if I thrown in some body organs?
