Marcela is an amazing mom, who has a great idea to help raise funds for a North Star placement for her son, JP, who is on the autism spectrum...this concept is modeled after the ice bucket challenge, which may be getting old now that winter is coming, perhaps this successful technique may work for us anew by way of a new, hotter, Jalapeno Bite Challenge...in the spirit of full inclusion, this challenge does not rely on specific invitations; anyone can participate in this one! This challenge is also a bit different, as we are not just raising funds, but raising consciousness as well, and anyone taking this challenge should also take a moment to first educate in their video some aspect of autism that others may not yet know...Im taking this challenge tomorrow and will post mine, as well as anyone who wants to join me... Donations can be of any size, by the way, and can come in two ways; one a check made out to North Star Foundation and sent to my attention to 20 Deerfield Lane, Storrs, CT 06268 or you can use our safe and convenient PayPal feature on our website at northstardogs North Star has been a leader in this field for a long time now, and we not only focus on the quality of our placements and the cutting edge concept of adding therapy to the mix of tasks for our assistance dogs, we also have remained committed to families of limited means (such as my own!) by only requesting they raise half of all necessary funds. With our new litter of 9 healthy goldens pups we need funding to create partnerships with the children we serve. This doesnt mean we cant have fun raising this necessary money...I thank Marcela for an awesome idea, and thank you in advance for participating. Warmest regards! Patty Dobbs Gross Executive Director North Star Foundation 20 Deerfield Lane Storrs, CT 06268 northstardogs [email protected] We help children find their way.
