For those of you new to Williams Safe Space, heres a little insight into what its all about.....William (my son) is a 9 year old boy first and foremost. However, he has a diagnosis of Autism with associated learning difficulties, epilepsy, asthma and hyper mobility. He attends a mainstream primary school where he has a full time 1-1 support to help him with all his learning needs and any other little bits and bobs that crop up along the way, especially his social and emotional needs. This fund has been set up to provide the necessary financial aid needed to provide William with some specialist outdoor play equipment. As William is very tall and has sensory difficulties, he cant access the indoor play facilities and often is too tall or struggles with the equipment on certain outdoor parks. Some are great but there are often the bigger parks where it is more difficult to maintain his safety because you cant always see them as clearly at all times and as he is extremely vulnerable/gullible, he would be slightly more likely to be negatively influenced by other ill meaning people. A very kind man has custom designed a play truck for William with all his needs in mind that will fit in my parents garden, which has a high fence and is well secured for Williams safety. The truck provides many physical/imaginary/sensory and most of all fun play opportunities for William. We need to raise the funds asap to cracking with this project. The best part is, is although this is a short term goal, we do have a long term goal too. I am my amazing supporters helping me to make this a reality, would love for Williams Safe Space to gain charitable status and would desperately love to go on and make this happen for so many more children with additional needs and added vulnerabilities in the future.
