For those of you that are not going on the California Challenge ride, we would LOVE to have you join us for this ride in Monterey! SATURDAY, OCTOBER 4, 2014 My organization, the City of Sacramento, through our Northern California Paralympic Regional Sport program/Paralympic Sport Sacramento, in partnership with the Monterey VA, and with support from Paralympic Sport Santa Cruz and Paralympic Sport Bay Area, are offering, for the 3rd year, this exciting cycling event! NEW ATTRACTION! This year we will also have No Limits on hand with Owner, Mark Wellman, to offer adaptive climbing! Don’t miss out on the ...opportunity to try this thrilling sport. NEW LOCATION! We are thrilled to be hosting this event at the Monterey VA Clinic this year. Thanks to Recreation Therapist, Phillip Torie and Supervisor of Recreation Therapy, Alisa Krinsky from the Palo Alto VA Health Care System, for your continued support of this program. This event is FREE to all injured, ill and wounded veterans. All others will be charged a $10 fee. Family and Friends are welcome to join in the fun on both the ride and for lunch. Helmets are required. The ride will depart from the Monterey VA Clinic and we will ride along the coast trail. Ride distances will be anywhere from 1 mile to 25 miles. All levels of ability are welcome. We will have volunteers along the route and riding with the group to assist those in need. A special thank you to retired firefighter and handcyling athlete, Bob Spisak, for serving as the creator of this ride and our volunteer Ride Director!
