Deadlines At your Legalshield Provider Law Firm, we appreciate every opportunity to assist LegalShield members with their legal matters. Many matters involve important deadlines. These may include court dates, response deadlines or statutes of limitation. Don’t risk limiting or losing your legal options by missing a court date or failing to file suit before a statue of limitation expires. Notifying your Legalshield Law Firm, as soon as a legal issue arises will help determine your deadlines, so you can take action to preserve your legal rights and remedies. If you get a traffic ticket, call us that day or the next. If you are charged with a crime, call us that day or the next. If you have a pending court date, it is extremely important to call our office as soon as you learn the date. When calling our office, alert our customer service representative of your court date or deadline. Our team needs time to evaluate your matter and locate an attorney available for your court date. Documentation In addition to court dates and deadlines, our attorneys may ask you to provide documentation on your legal matter. The following information will help you understand the best way to get your documents in the hands of our attorneys. •Call us before sending in documents. It is important that you discuss your matter with an attorney to ensure the attorney identifies the individuals involved and the facts of the case. The attorney must rule out any potential conflict of interest. It is important to rule out a conflict from the outset to ensure your legal rights and interests are preserved. The attorney will also determine which documents they need to review. When sending documents to our office always include your case/reference number and your name. •Keep your original signed documents. Do not send us your original documents. Fax or email us documents so you can retain the original copies. If you need to send documents through the mail, send a photocopy of the original. •Make sure your documents are legible. Some legal documents, such as traffic tickets or receipts, may be handwritten. Be sure any handwritten documents are legible. It is important that all of the information on the document can be read clearly. If you make photocopies of your documents, make sure they are also clear.
