For those of you that havent been to our house - we have one tree - a birch - right next to our garage and I have a bird-feeder hanging on it. About 2 weeks ago I glanced out the window and a deer was eating out of the feeder. She did this for a few days in a row. Well, I started putting apples, bananas, corn and a salt block out there in case she came back, which she has, about 3 TIMES A DAY!!! What surprises me is that the woods by our house are about 900 feet away, so its not like we have trees or forest all around us, but we do back up to Midland Trail driving range that has some tree on its outer edges about 3,000 feet from us. Anyway, this morning at a little after 5 I went to take her apples, banana and corn out and SHE WAS SITTING UNDER THE TREE WAITING FOR ME!!!!! She didnt even get up or run when she saw me. So I started talking to her (yes Im nuts), telling her youre a pretty girl and mamas little baby and as I started walking towards the tree she got up and backed-up about 8 feet and watched me put her food out. Went back in the house and glanced out the window and she was eating her breakfast. I just think its neat that she was waiting for me. Oh well, it doesnt take a lot to excite me.
