For those of you who are waiting to hear from Wendy Davis on her further political plans, I am forwarding this note (she recently lost her father, Jerry Russell, founder/director emeritus and guiding light of "Stage West", here in Ft. Worth): Dear Marycharles, My father was the person in my life who taught me to respect my intelligence. He made me believe in myself, and gave me the spark of confidence that has brought me to where I am today. You haven’t heard from me in a while. I’ve spent much of my time recently with my family, surrounded by love and prayer when my father took ill. Unfortunately, he passed away earlier this month. This has been a hard time for my family. But even in our darkest moments, we get to see the best there is in all the people around us. The support that has poured in from all across Texas -- all across the country, for that matter -- has been nothing short of incredible. My family and I appreciate every single thought, prayer, and well-wish we’ve received over the past few weeks. We’ll be getting back to business here in short order. But before we do, I wanted to take this moment to say -- Thank you.
