For those of you who have been praying for my brother his situation has changed. This is the latest update from his daughter, Danielle. Tough Day 12 hours ago Well.....we are in a better space as far as his heart is concerned than when we were admitted. My dad had a pacemaker placed yesterday. The surgery went well...now he is just dealing with a bit of post surgical pain...but managing it with pain medication.The news we received this morning wasnt as uplifting. An xray was done this morning to check on the pacemaker. It was found out his left lung was completely whited out meaning full of fluid, which was significantly increased from the xray he had Wednesday upon admission. Unfortunately, they believe the fluid is from his tumors in his lungs. Because of this, he had a chest tube placed at 11:30am. It has already put out 1650 milliliters of fluid. That is a lot! Its estimated there could be about 3 liters in that lung. So, we are here until it slows draining and it can be pulled. His oncologist is out of town and we were forced to make the difficult decision to switch chemos and see if we can try to slow the progression at all. Its been an emotionally exhausting day. Now we are waiting on a head CT with contrast because he can no longer have MRIs due to the pacemaker placement. Anyway, we are doing our best to keep him comfortable. We will have a lot to get situated before we come home.Please continue to keep my dad in your thoughts and prayers. Clearly we are in need!Love,The Bailey Family
