For those of you who have never seen this film and for my African - TopicsExpress

For those of you who have never seen this film and for my African friends who dont know our history here in the west. Many Africans I am engaging in conversation dont know what they are looking at as they venture through our communities. While abroad I engaged quite a bit of Sudanese, Ethiopians, Kenyans and etc who gave me a love I cant explain to you. The more I explained with passion my desire to set foot on African soil no matter with nation I landed in the more invitations I received. I have invitations to stay with many families when I go home to Africa but many of them only know the cover story about our time here in America. They dont have really have a clue or background about Jim Crow, Willie Lynch, segregation or why there are protest in the streets of the U.S. So here is a film that will hit you in the gut and remember they shot this film in the late 60s early 70s in Haiti and parts of the Gulf Coast of the U.S. When I first saw this film I couldnt get past the first 21 mins of it. I had to come back and watch it in burst over a week. It hurt that bad. I kept asking the question who allowed their countrymen, families, children, wives and fathers be in such a film but as vile as this is the Italians who produced it, in a small way did us a service by portraying what hadnt been shown. Roots only showed a small part. Many of you will say this could never had happened. Many will turn there heads in order to forget, but the Jews have a saying of NEVER AGAIN. Yet 400 yrs later we are still living with and feeling the after shocks of what we have underwent here in the Western Hemisphere. Outside of a small few of you, I look to see the comments of those who have the fortitude to watch all 2 hrs of it. Black History month is coming and since the U.S. justice system is still reminding you nothing has changed lets just take all the way back to the boat ride. Oh yeah Alex it even addresses the creole issue in the film. Lol. Elijah said the white man was grafted well he turned around and did the same to us here in the U.S. Made In America is the stamp we bare. peace https://youtube/watch?v=VCtCEKzmMsQ
