For those of you who may have heard and/or are concerned, my dad went into the ER Wednesday evening. He had been weak for several weeks. They determined he was bleeding in his stomach. After an endoscopy yesterday, they found polyps in his stomach that had formed ulcers. Three were removed and cauterized, but the largest was too big to remove with his elevated risk of bleeding. Instead, they bound it off. They have not determined the course of action with the remaining polyp. There was talk of him staying in the hospital for another week to remove the remaining polyp, but there was talk of releasing him today and do nothing more with the last one. He received two units of blood yesterday. Currently, he is in ICU. Today, he is looking much better. He is waiting to go to a normal room, and to hear from the doctor in charge of his case.
