For those of you wondering what is going on in Ukraine, the answer is nothing much. The Verkhovna Rada resumed its sitting on Tuesday with most of the discussions centering around the return to the 2004 Constitution, which would significantly restrict Yanukovychs Presidential powers. However, the Party of Regions has resumed its hard-line obstructionist stance and there has been zero progress. Yanukovych is scheduled to visit Putin on Friday, which probably indicates he has no idea of how to get out of this current mess, and is going to rely on Putin to rescue him somehow. In the meantime, there are lots of rumours and speculation going around about Russian special forces already being in Ukraine and being behind most of the violence, kidnappings and murders. War mongers in Russia are stepping up a propaganda campaign on how Russia should rescue Ukraine from the extremists and fanatics that are behind the protests. Of course, they insist that western states are behind it all and are funding all the unrest. The more hysterically minded have gone as far as to claim that US troops have already landed in Lviv!
