For those that dont know, each New Years Eve the Icelanders gather - TopicsExpress

For those that dont know, each New Years Eve the Icelanders gather in front of their TV sets and watch something called the Áramótaskaup - a send-up, or satire, of the years main newsworthy events. The skaup is always awaited with great anticipation, and for the hour or so that it is playing the streets are empty (something like 95% of the nation watches it). In the few days afterwards, everyone has an opinion of how good (or not) they thought the skaup was. This years (or, well, *last* years) skaup leaned heavily to the left and made one hard-hitting joke after the other at the expense of the government and the right-wingers. Predictably, then, those who were pleased with the skaup this year tended to be liberals, while the right-wingers thought it sucked. Me, I laughed HARD. Anyway, below is the link to the skaup ... I think the followers of this page may be particularly interested in the skit that begins at 39.14. Ill say no more. ;--) ruv.is/sarpurinn/aramotaskaup-2014/31122014
