For those who are already aware that Im relocating to Sydney with my wife, Marlz Marlz, and those who arent, its now official. We will be transitioning to down to Annandale as of mid-to-late April. Im genuinely going to miss living in Newcastle because there are so many great things happening here right now and that will happen here in the future. Im very privileged to be involved in many social / not-for-profit organisations and committees in Newcastle and will remain so, notwithstanding our relocation. In fact, Ive been living a tale of two cities for many years, so it is second nature for me to be commuting. Be assured that, wherever I am, I will remain an ambassador for this city and will fight hard (on a person by person basis) to change any erroneous perceptions of Newcastle as not worth visiting...because it simply is. Newcastle has always been and will remain on the coal face (pun intended) of social change. It will also continue to demonstrate how a community can deal positively and proactively to change. Without wanting to appear patronising, Im really humbled and proud of those efforts key people have made in making this city the focus of attention both nationally and globally as a city that is essentially adaptable and innovative. You know who you are. So, thank you Newcastle! Im so glad that, in 2005, I made the realisation that I needed to get back here, to where I once belonged. I will always feel at home in Newcastle thanks to you guys. Finally, thanks also to all that have supported me in my journey and apologies to those I may have offended or put out along the way. It was never my intention and I hope that time will heal any wounds. My best to you always!!
