For those who are struggling, who want to give up, waiting for a miracle that hasnt come, those that believe God has given up, and to those who just feel like life isnt fair......dont stop believing, dont stop praying and dont stop asking the Lord to help you or provide for your needs. He hears us and he answers us. Its not always in a blink of any eye and as fast as we would like but its in His time. You might not be given everything you need or ask for at once but he does give it to us. My Son is a living testimony to Gods goodness and love. He has provided for us every step of the way. Has there been heartbreak and struggles along the way? Yes there has but He still has gotten us through it all and has answered prayers that have been sent up by so many. No he hasnt instantly healed my son like you hear about in the Bible or in headline news stories but he IS healing him and that is an answer to prayers. If you look at where my son was and where he is now you will see the Lord working his miracle in Michael. I say this because Christmas time is the time where so many feel down, discouraged and depressed. You may be having financial problems, family problems, health issues or any other number of problems and I understand because I am right there with you. I have decided that instead of looking at all the problems we have, the suffering we have been through and that we are still going through, my heart breaking when I look at my son and the struggle he has been through and the long road of recovery ahead of him I am going to look at the blessings already given to us no matter how small. Five months ago my sons heart stopped beating for more than five minutes and the Lord breathed life back into him, he fought to keep this new life in the ICU but the Lord provided doctors and nurses to help him in this fight, facing the reality that he may never walk again or his brain wont function and the Lord provided us the opportunity to go to Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite, being separated from my husband and daughter but the Lord provided technology given to us by others that allowed us to FaceTime them while separated, the fear of coming home from Atlanta and the Lord provided us a community with such love and support for us to help ease that fear, the fear that his friends would not want to see him and forget about him and the Lord blessing us through the special bonds of friendship, difficulty with insurance and getting the equipment needed and blessing us after prayers were sent up to get the needed equipment and we now have it, blessing us by providing financially through others and when I start to feel down about what has happened to my son I am blessed by getting a message or card in the mail saying, you dont know me but because of your son I have been saved, I have the will to continue my fight or just hey what happened to your son totally sucks but I wanted you to know I am praying for you, and by reading these my spirit is renewed again. I have been blessed by having such an incredible Church and Church family. I have been blessed by being able to watch and raise this miracle given by God and if you dont believe in miracles then the picture below shows the miracle. The two pictures are of Michael on life support and Michael five months later. Did the Lord instantly heal him, no, but he is in his own way and time and the fact that he has come this far in just five months is the miracle. This Christmas instead of focusing on all the negative in life try and focus on the positive in life. Hug those you love more and dont take for granted telling them that you love them. I dont know why sharing this was put on my heart but if it helps just one person then that is another blessing.
