For those who continue beating yourself up over the past...... If youre are a child of God, you are Free from your past! People will say things ( especially in a small town ) like: Well, I remember when he or she did this or that, and now theyre trying to say theyre a Christian. First off, a person who would say something like that is not acquainted with God; for if they were, they would know what Jesus says of the matter: For I will forgive their iniquities, and will remember their sins no more.! The next time someone reminds you of your past, you should say to them In Love: According to Hebrews 8:12, Jesus has forgiven me for everything Ive done in the past, and remembers it no more. So, why are you bringing it up? Heres The Good News: If you know Jesus, your conscience has been cleared! With this in mind, why are you worrying about what others say? Heres what God says: Hebrews 9, vs 14: How much more then, will The Blood of Christ Cleanse Our Consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve The Living God! The Bible tells us in John 8:36 Whom The Son sets Free, is Free indeed! Thats why the Bible also says in John 8:32: You shall hear the Truth, and the Truth shall set you Free! This is why it is so important that Christians read the Word of God. If youre not reading what God says about you, then youre going to be a prisoner of what the world, and religious folks say about you. Get out of there! You dont belong there! You belong in Gods Word, and in the fellowship of believers who love you, and who will encourage you in what Gods Word says about you! Galatians 5:1 says: It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. Blessings, Jeffrey
