For those who dont know (and there are many): Yes, Palestine was a place, filled with Palestinian people, doing all the things people do, long before the birth of the State of Israel in 1948. It appears that believers in the three major religions lived in relative harmony. While Jews made up about half of the population in Jerusalem, in the country as a whole, they made up less than 5% of the total; Christians accounted for 10%, and Muslims, 85%. Today, the State of Israel has a population of approximately 8 million inhabitants. 75% percent of them are Jewish, 20.7% are Arabs, while the remaining 4.3% are defined as others.
