Youre a practicing pious Muslim. Youre walking down the road and suddenly one of your classmates X (for instance) who is your opposite gender, comes to you and asks you to get into the rickshaw, sitting with him/her as X wants to give you a lift to the 5 minutes walking distance nearby university. WOW ! And youre like Its OK, I can walk to the university, its just a 5 minutes walking distance from here. Like seriously? So afraid to say to X that you dont want to get into the rickshaw because Allah will be displeased; or is it that you didnt get in because your future wife would be angry if she finds out it in near future. If you would have nicely said to X of what Allah forbade us to do in this case, that person X would have learned from you, and that X would never talk to you unislamically. We need to handle such situations Islamically. You never know, a single Islamic sentence can act as a guide for the person. Your kind words and actions can change the person. Allah SWT can guide him/her through you. The Prophet (SAW) said in this respect, “If Allah guides one man through you, this will be better for you than possessing red camels.” (Saheeh Al-Bukhaaree: 2847; Saheeh Muslim: 2406) Camels were considered the most valuable property in ancient Arabia and the red variety was the most prized of all. It is something beyond compare.
