For those who have asked how Karl got hurt and not really - TopicsExpress

For those who have asked how Karl got hurt and not really understanding why his mortality was ever a question or why I would express gratitude for him being alive. This is what Ive been told at this point. He was at his shop at work filling an air tank when the tank basically exploded or came apart. No fire or anything just didnt hold the air pressure. When that happened it hit his arm and hand, missed his head and chest even though he was leaned over filling it and threw him backwards and flipped him over apparently then hit the ceiling leaving a hole or dent of some kind. Ive not seen it myself just been told. His brother and dad were with him thankfully when it happened. I had called his phone around 3:30 or 4 but one of the ladies at work answered because one of the guys had brought it to the office saying he left it in the shop. His brother and dad were trying to get the bleeding stopped and rushed him to the nearest hospital. His brother later went back to find his glasses and phone and it was around then that I was called to let me know he was at the ER. We all knew it could have been a lot worse and are very very thankful that it wasnt. Those who saw it happen especially knew it easily could have been worse. I didnt know what I was going to see walking into the ER because all I knew at that point was there was some kind of an explosion and it badly hurt his hand and likely broke it but didnt know if there would be other damage that wasnt mentioned. I was VERY relieved when getting there that it was only a broken arm and hand. He should heal up nicely and even do desk/ phone and supervisory work after he is feeling a bit better. Until then we will just enjoy him home. The girls were very happy to see him when they got back last night. Close calls like that make anyone realize how much they dont want to loose someone and how each day is really an undeserved gift. Hopefully that will explain why I would express gratitude for his life over this. Im grateful. Very grateful!
