For those who love in-mast furling.... Was watching two guys on the marina struggling to free a jammed sail...theyd obviously prepared well, both having brought a foot long piece of skirting board along, with hammer, which they were vigorously banging and levering into the joins in an attempt to free the beast. They had the out haul on dead tight, but could not seem to free it. After a few minutes observing this panto, I couldnt resist ambling alongside to offer my assistance. Surely it cant be that simple, I thought to myself..but lo and behold, upon approaching the furling winch on the mast, noticed they had the lever set over on the rachet side, rather than the free side. One click and the sail was free to unwind! Needless to say, they looked a little embarrassed but were very thankful....
