For those who may have wondered: I de-activated my Facebook - TopicsExpress

For those who may have wondered: I de-activated my Facebook account for about a month. I was spending way too much time here. Stuff wasnt getting done. The first thing you notice is the silence. No dings from the computer, telling you theres another email notification from Facebook. The only other volume emails that came in were from vendors. I got that all sorted out so that the ones I want to hear from (TripAdvisor, Quora, CNET Insider) went to their own folders. I unsubscribed to the rest. The second thing you notice is the twitching. It comes whenever you encounter a hilarious or interesting post or story thats begging for comment. The impulse is to post it on the wall. And, because your FB account is deactivated, you cant do that. Its disturbing for a while, but then you get over it. The third thing you find is that you have more time. Much, much more time. Which as it turns out - ended up being spent on other frivolous pursuits. Anyway Im back. P.S. about the stuff not being done - its still not done.
