2014 DockDogs World Championships is in the History Books!!! I hope everyone has made the trip home safe and sound and the Stars of the dock are getting a well-deserved rest, both human a K9 companions alike. I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who made the effort to travel to Dubuque. Whether you were competing, a cheerleader, or a part of the event crew, or a hard working photographer, the exhibitors, even the hotel & building staff, all the way up to the fans in the stands… in my humbled opinion we all came together to make this year’s World Championships one of the best events ever in the History of DockDogs. From the Competition to the socials and everything else in between, pat yourselves on the back and give your Pups a big hug because this event will be talked about for years to come. What a way to wrap up 15 years of Tradition and Innovation and at the same time launch 2015!!! I would like to point out one of my personal highlights from the past week’s events in that the “DUELING DOGS” demonstration was one of the coolest things yet for me in DockDogs. When we played with it back in 2007/08/09 at previous world championships as a part of the relay demos, I new we were on to something, but it was just not the right time. This my friends “absolutely” is the right time and I am so excited about what the future holds for this new discipline. As we begin down the road to evolve the Dueling Dogs program, much like we have in the past with the other disciplines, I look forward to working with the Rules Committee over the next few years to carve out rules and policies for yet a another exciting and new exclusive component to DockDogs. There is way to many things that need to be highlighted in a simple FB post, so instead I will say this; As I witnessed first hand many memories being made, personal best being achieved, and old Dockdoggers and new alike coming together, I was proud to be apart of such a great community and even more so be able to be a part of the camaraderie and good times that was exemplified both on and off the dock. Thank you to all and we are looking forward to 2015!!! Grant Reeves, CEO, DockDogs Worldwide
