For those who may not be aware, despite being geographically in Itally, culturally the area is closer to German than anything (about 60% of the population speak German as a primary language). The South Tyrol was seeded to Itally after the end of the first world war, and as such the people here often dont consider themselves of their ancestors to actually be Itallian. The food is a mix of German (Wurst and German Beers), Itallian (Pizza and Gelatto), and just South Tyrolian (Specke and Specific Wines made from grapes exclusive to the Tyrol).
