For thou, O Lord of hosts, God of Israel, has revealed to thy servant, saying, I will build thee an house: therefore hath thy servant found in his heart to pray this prayer unto thee. 2 Sam 7:27. David understood the impetus given him to pray to God concerning an eternal dynasty realised and culminated in the Jewish Messiah(Jesus Christ) was initiated by the Promise God made to Him. Today,we as believers in Christ, have been given numerous promises in Christ revealed and preserved in the Holy Bible, which ought to move us like it did David to pray for the blessing of these promises in our lives. We can confidently ask God(pray) for those promises which God has revealed to us in His word. Blessings.
