For todays Daily Thomas, a fitting follow-up to yesterdays - TopicsExpress

For todays Daily Thomas, a fitting follow-up to yesterdays discussion of the Daily Telegraph article that Thomas A. McAdam posted claiming shameful manipulation of the official climate data. Money quote: The libertarian magazine Reason noted that even climate skeptic blogger Anthony Watts said that Goddard made major errors in his analysis and criticized the implication that numbers are being plucked out of thin air in a nefarious way. In fact, the National Climatic Data Center (NCDC) and NASA, which both maintain temperature records that use slightly different methods but show close agreement, have publicly documented the peer-reviewed adjustments they make to raw data. That last is exactly the point I made from the start. And Im glad that, to his credit, Thomas finally backed off his claim that the data are deliberately manipulated to fit the theory, and instead asked only that the scientific agencies take pains to transparently report their routine adjustments to the data. Which, as the above confirms, they already do. One thing I did not know until I read this article is that Steven Goddard, the Telegraphs source for the ludicrous attacks on the agencies data, is also a birther. I did, however, notice this no less bizarre comment elsewhere on his blog: Progressives do everything they can to drive young men insane, by repressing all normal male behavior and telling teens that they are destroying the planet by driving their car. Then when teenage boys go completely insane and kill their peers with knives, cars, explosives and guns, progressives jump to the obvious conclusion that the madness could have been prevented by punishing duck hunters. I know its hard to get your mind around it, but yes, he REALLY IS SAYING that some of the recent mass killings at schools are due in part to overly climatologically correct parents denying their sons access to the family sedan for fear of contributing to global warming. Will our grandchildren even believe us when we tell them what passed in some quarters for objective journalism in the early decades of the 21st century? Oh, and we also learn that Steven Goddards name is not really Steven Goddard. Now why would he pick THAT name of all names? And why would anyone not already totally deranged by unremitting exposure to right-wing propaganda believe a word this guy writes? mediamatters.org/blog/2014/06/24/fox-news-cites-birther-to-claim-nasa-faked-glob/199871
